School – return the form to that school no matter where you live.

Voluntary Aided, Academy and Foundation Schools may require completion of a

supplementary form.

Proof of address maybe required.

The school will notify parent/carers of the outcome of the application. If a school is unable to

offer your child a place they will advise you –

During the first couple of weeks of schooling at Barley Close children are admitted on a half-time basis. Details of these arrangements will be discussed at meetings with parents before their child starts school. There are seven years of primary education after which children transfer to a secondary school in the September following their eleventh birthday.

At the age of 11 most children from Barley Close transfer to Mangotsfield or Downend Secondary Schools.
