The Children's University is an international charity that provides 7-14 year olds (and 5 and 6 year olds with their families) with access to exciting learning experiences outside of the normal school day. It aims to raise children's aspirations for learning and an understanding that learning happens all the time, not just at school.
If you decide to join up you will be issued with a passport to learning (an online version and a proper passport which we can stamp) where you can record all the learning activities and experiences that you do. Once a year graduation ceremonies are held, if you have 30 hours or more of learning logged in your passport you can graduate wearing a proper cap and gown.
The only cost to joining the scheme is £5 membership which covers the cost of your passport, online passport and graduation ceremony.
Learning activities that count towards your hours of learning include all of our after school clubs, family days out (such as the Museum, Bristol Zoo or SS Great Britain, all scouting association clubs, Karate, Dance and many more). We can validate the clubs that you are already members of so that your hours there count.
For more information about joining Children's University please see Mrs King (SENCO/Inclusion Manager) or Mrs Kiff (Year 5). We look forward to finding out about all the exciting learning activities that you take part in.
