Enrichment
Enrichment Curriculum at Barley Close
We are proud of our Enrichment curriculum and were very pleased when it was given a quality mark of recognition by South Gloucestershire Council. We were visited by Jane Thomas, the Extended Schools Locality Development Officer (Kingswood Hub.) She observed some of our enrichment activities and also examined the provision offered by our after school clubs. We were delighted to receive an award for ‘Excellent Practice in Curriculum Extension and Enrichment.’
Children across the school are able to join in activities together, mixing the age groups together provides opportunities for the children to demonstrate skills and to support each other.
In 2011 – 2012, we have decided to run each of our Enrichment sessions across two terms in order for the children to extend their projects and have the opportunity to practice and refine the skills they are gaining before moving on to a new experience.
Detailed below are the activities in which your children participated during Terms 1 and 2.
