Parking at School
A reminder that parking is available for all parents and carers in the car park which can be accessed via The Laurels (off Blackhorse Road).
We would respectfully ask that you do not drive and park in Barley Close itself, since this causes congestion and we are trying to ensure that we consider our local residents at all times.

Cycling to School
If children want to cycle to school, you as parents and carers must give written permission. Governors have agreed that children who ride their bicycles to school must ride a suitably safe bike, wear a cycle helmet and get off their bikes as soon as they arrive on school premises to ensure the safety of other children on site.
Children need to be trained to ride their bicycle safely and those who have been trained are able to seek permission to ride to school alone, otherwise they must be accompanied by an adult.

Jewellery
Jewellery is not part of our school uniform, please ensure that all rings, ear-rings and necklaces are removed before your child comes to school. Children are allowed to wear a wrist watch.

Late Arrivals at School
If your child arrives after 8:55 a.m. or returns to school during the school day, please ensure that you come to the school office to sign them in and out. Parents should not go straight the classroom. For health and safety reasons we need to record when children leave and arrive at school.

Absence due to Sickness
If your child is unwell and therefore unable to attend school, please telephone the school before 9 a.m. to let us know.
The absence of all pupils is a cause for concern and if we do not know the reason for an absence, Mrs. Goodway will telephone you. This is taking a great deal of time and is costly too, so please could you help us by ensuring that you contact the school first.
I would like to thank all those parents who are already remembering to give us a quick call to inform us of any absence. When your child returns to school, please send a brief letter explaining the reasons for the absence—these are used by the EWO to monitor absence.
If your child has been sick or suffered a bout of diarrhoea, they should remain at home for 48 hours after the last time there was an occurrence of diarrhoea or vomiting, to try to prevent the spread of infection to other children.
Thank you for your co-operation |
