Another Great Week
What a lovely week we all had, with a fantastic trip to Westonbirt Arboretum. The children enjoyed collecting woodland treasures, making dens, going on a bear hunt and of course, their picnic lunch!
I have added many of the photographs taken as a separate link on the web page, so do have a look at all we got up to.
The children have explored the story; "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" this week, why don't you ask them to draw you a story map.
We are all getting good at our letter sounds. We ues a program called 'Read, Write Inc' at Barley Close to help us learn the sounds that each letter makes. There are some fun rhymes which we use with the children to help them learn how to write each letter. I have attached a separate document with all of the rhymes to our website page, so you can have a look for yourself (this will help when the children ask you how to form a 's'!).
Full Time and still smiling!
The children have all settled really well into school and seem to be enjoying themselves. Luch times are going well and most of the children are trying the new school menu, chocolate milkshake is a definite favourite!
The children are taking part in lots of play based activities, choosing what they want to do for half of the day, alongside daily sessions of maths, phonics, group times and everyone's favourite; story time! This week we have enjoyed Jack and the Beanstalk and next week, we will be looking at The Enormous Turnip.
Great First Week
What a lovely few days we have had. The children in panda class have settled so well and I am proud of them all for the way they have come into school without any tears! We have played lots of games to get to know each other, explored the indoor and outside classroom, drawn self portraits, took a tour of the school and sang lots of number songs. We have been so busy!!
Next week we will continue to use different areas of the classroom and try to learn each other's names while we make new friends.
if you have any questions or concerns, please come and see me,
Have a good weekend,
love Mrs Perry
