This week we did Forest Skills with Mrs Lines. We were very lucky because Mrs Lines lit a fire and we all took it in turns to cook a hotdog and toast marshmallows. We quickly reminded ourselves of the fire circle rules and general safety rules when sitting around a fire. Thank you Mrs Lines for this memorable experience. We all had so much fun!
In Maths this week we have been continuing our work on place value. We have been using numberlines and representing number in different ways.
Something to try at home: Try writing numbers in a sequence and asking your child to fill in the missing numbers!
In English this week we have been continuing to focus on our class story Rapunzel. We have been retelling the story, ordering the story and creating our own story maps.
Something to try at home: Read various fairy tales and discuss the language.
We have also enjoyed going on a materials hunt around the school – we enjoyed looking at objects and saying what they were made from!
Thank you for all your support so far – please continue to encourage your child to read 5 times a week to become a reading star!
