Tiger Class Home Learning
For the foreseeable future, until you hear otherwise from Mrs Williams, all learning will take place at home with ‘virtual’ engagement with me. There will be no ‘live lessons’ but I will be uploading videos of some lesson inputs to Class Dojo or our Tiger Class youtube channel. I will upload relevant resources to this Class Page in separate subject folders – these will either be Word documents, PDF files or PowerPoints to download. I will try my very best to make sure there is no printing required as I appreciate not everyone has access to a printer and this is an additional cost to you. We also have a Tiger class YouTube channel where lessons and tutorials will be uploaded for children to watch from home.
Our expectation is that children complete the set work and this is then sent back to me to mark / assess / make comment on. The easiest way for this to happen is through Class Dojo – if you send me an image of their completed work in their Portfolio, I will comment directly to the post. If children are not engaging with the learning without reasonable cause, a member of SLT will be contacting you to discuss this and see if we can help.
Please see the timetable above that I will be providing resources for – this is as close to what would have taken place inside the classroom, but it is flexible for you to best meet the needs and routine of your family life. You will find there will naturally be gaps in the timetable as some activities will complete quicker than others, so I have also collated some ideas of ‘extra-curricular’ learning to take place in the home. These are just suggestions and ideas – feel free to choose your own!
We do absolutely understand that this has been a very last minute change of events for you (as it also was for us) so if it is difficult to follow the timetable completely due to your working commitments, I do understand and I don’t want you to worry. I would ask though that at a very minimum the following takes place every day:
All of the above can be completed completely independently by your child, so it should be very manageable to maintain without much disruption to your working from home.
If you do not have access to a laptop, computer, iPad or Smartphone – speak to Mrs Williams, we should be able to help you.
Thank you for your cooperation. I realise it’s not ideal but I will try my best to make the temporary transition of learning from the classroom to home as smooth as possible.
If you have any questions, please do contact me – you can either email me at email@example.com or directly message me on Class Dojo. I will aim to respond within the same working day. Please bare in mind that I will be working in school to teach key worker children some days a week so may take longer to get back to you at times.
