What a term so far!
Our Topic this term is Home and Away. We have been busy settling in to our new term! We have welcomed a new teacher 'Mrs Wallace' who teaches us on a Monday and Wednesday and have adapted well to new Year 1 challenges.
This term we have started our Arithmetic session and have been working more independently in our English and Maths lessons.
In English this term we have studied the book Handas Surprise - where we created our own Animal and Fruit Factfiles. For the past two weeks we have been reading Supertato and we have made our very own comic strip based on the story. Mrs Rowley and I are very impressed with the childrens progress.
In phonics, we have learnt most of our set 3 and extra sounds and will now be revising them and practicing reading them in real and alien words.
In Maths we have been learning about measure. we have been weighing this week! We are also continuing with our addition and subtraction!
We are looking forward to our Local walk on Friday to find Physical and Human features in our local area. Thank you for offering to help with this!
Next weeks Learning
Next week we will be writing letters to Santa! On Thursday 5th we are walking to the local post box to post our letters! We will also send a copy of the letter home!
In Maths we will be focusing on Number bonds to 20 and doubling!
Thank you fro your continued support with the childrens spellings and reading! we have had the highest percentage for reading across the whole school for the past 2 weeks and the children have been treated with biscuits from Mrs Daniel! Lets make it 3 weeks in a row!
Have a nice weekend
Mrs Prideaux, Mrs Wallace and Miss Rowley!
Congratulations to Mrs Crocker who had a beautiful baby boy, born 26th November!
All well and they are enjoying their lastest addition 'Alfie Reed Crocker'.
Year 1, 2 and Reception will be performing their Christmas showcase on Tuesday 17th December at 2pm and 6pm.
Year 2 will be acting and Year 1 and reception are singing and performing!
Year 1 will be dressed as Snowmen - please ensure they bring a white t-shirt/jumper, white trousers/leggings, a hat and a scarf into school ASAP in a named carrier bag.
In addition to this they will also need a Santa hat - this can be any colour - the brighter the better!
