Welcome back Crocs! I hope that you all had a wonderful half term break and that you are looking forward to returning to school tomorrow. This term is going to be a busy one, with parents' evening, test week, our class assembly and Christmas preparations/fun!
This week’s learning
In English, we will begin exploring our second book of the academic year, 'Leon and the Place Between'. First, we will annotate and identify noun phrases and ambitious language that appear throughout the story. Next, we will revise our work on noun phrases. After that, we will apply our work on noun phrases to a character description of the magician.
In maths, we will be looking at multiplication and division. We will continue to use and embed our knowledge of the number line method to complete multiplication and division calculations. We will focus on the 4 times table and look at the pattern between the 4 and 2 times tables.
Our topic for this term is 'Wild Earth' where we will learn about a variety of natural disasters from hurricanes to volcanoes. We will even get to make and erupt our very own volcanoes. How exciting!
Our science unit for this term is light. We will start this week by looking at what light is and identify a number of different light sources.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about anything listed above or if you have any concerns about your child. I am always happy to help and will support you and your child in any way possible. The best point of call, during this current time, is to either contact me via email or ClassDojo.
Stay safe and take care,
Mr Filer and Mrs Collins
