This term Leopard Class have been learning all about plants and Animals. Our Term 4 Topic is 'The Jungle Book'! We have already planted cress seeds and beans! We have written recounts and instructions, and we are currently writing our own ending to The Jungle Book narrative!
In Maths we have been adding and Subtracting one-digit and two-digit numbers, solving addition, subtraction and measure problems. We are hoping to learn simple multiplication and division too!
Unfortunately, we haven't been able to do much Forest Schools due to very bad weather conditions. However, we have managed to plant some potatoes in our 'Grubby Club' area and we are watching our beans grow in our classroom window!
We have also been working hard learning new dances about the seasons and we were very lucky to have a Dance teacher come to visit to teach us a dance all about seeds growing!
The children have already worked hard and completed lots of learning this term - they have all made so much progress - we are very proud teachers in Leopard Class!
Class Assembly is now Postponed
I have now prepared home learning packs and they are ready to go home this week. I know some families are already self-isolating and we will get these packs to you ASAP.
I will hand out all other packs this week - just so we are prepared.
The packs are ready for you/the children to choose one or two activities daily. They also include a password to the Timestable Rockstar Website (link below)
I have attached a suggested timetable for our Year 1 children if they are staying at home at this very unsettling time.
I have also attached some useful links to support the children's learning and entertainment when they are home.
I suggest that as well as the pack the children continue to learn the 100 Year 1 Common Exception Words (highlighted sheet handed out last term), 2s,5s and 10s timestables and regular reading of reading books and books from home.
Thanks for your continued support and remember to keep your families safe!
