In Leopard Class we are Great Friends, Architects, Risk Takers, Adventurers, Explorers, Designers, Writers, Investigators, Mathematicians and Artists!

Key Information for Year 1:

1. PE is on Thursdays and Fridays (come into school in PE kit on these days).
2. Water bottles- please send in a named water bottle for your child to use around the school.
3. Forest School - Wellies in school please.
   Homework:
4. Reading: please hear your child read 5 times a week. The children receive rewards in class for completing this homework. Reading books are changed every Friday.
5. Spelling Test is every Thursday.
6. MyMaths- once the children have settled, we will send home logins for MyMaths, which is our online Maths homework platform. We will set one activity per week and children that complete this homework will receive rewards in class.

A little bit about the adults in Leopard class:

We are very lucky to have two experienced teachers sharing Leopard Class, and an experienced TA all week! We also have Mr Manny as our SENTA!

I am really excited about teaching Year 1 again and can't wait to get to know our lovely new Leopards. We have so many exciting and fun experiences planned for the year ahead.

In my spare time I love spending time outdoors on adventures with my family. I also love baking, dancing and reading. I'm always busy!

Mrs Prideaux

I am very much looking forward to teaching Year 1  again this year and am very excited to make sure our learning in Year 1 is fun and full of new experiences!

I have been teaching at Barley Close for a very long time (17 years!) and have even been teaching a little longer than that! Oh dear that makes me sound very old! I have a wealth of experience and have a passion for helping children academically and personally. 

I am PE Lead at school and love planning exciting sporting events for the children - I also run the Netball Team! 

When I'm not at school I am busy looking after my 3 children and I like keeping myself fit and healthy by exercising and coaching Netball!

Mrs Bradford

Mrs Bradford is Leopard Class TA and Reading Assistant. She has worked at Barley Close for many years and the children will also know her as a Lunch Break Supervisor. Mrs Bradford will be in class everyday.   

When Mrs Bradford is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family.
