Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Further to the news tonight the plans we had in place and shared with you today will stay in place for yr1-5.
I am sorry to say that although Panda, Giraffe and Zebra were told they could all return we now know this can’t be the case. Only key worker and vulnerable children in these yr groups can attend. We know who those children are as you had already requested a place and it was confirmed by email earlier.
As we get more information we will let you know. I am so sorry for all this change at such short notice.
Mrs Williams
Further to a meeting with staff today and addressing safety concerns that unions had raised nationally, we will be able to open Panda, Giraffe and Zebra classes as normal. Their class teachers will be in delivering lessons face to face only. We expect all children in these year groups to attend as normal. the previous drop off and collection times will still remain. We appreciate some parents may be nervous so please contact me via email to discuss.
Mrs Williams
For those children in Rec, yr 6 and coming in as key workers or vulnerable children, breakfast club and OSC will be open as normal for those who have booked.
As you may be aware from the media teaching unions have been advising colleagues on the safety of returning to school following the festive break. Following union meetings and discussions with our Chair of Governors we will not be able to open safely for pupils at this current time. This will be reviewed on Friday 8th January.
We have a planned INSET tomorrow, Monday 4th January, and as of Tuesday 5th January teachers will be providing learning remotely. We will be open for key worker and vulnerable children. Below is the criteria, if you feel you fit this and your child will need a place please email
jo-marie.williams@barleyclose.org.uk by 11am on Monday 4th January saying why you need the place, we will then be in touch later on Monday.
We will also be in touch with the FSM families.
I am sorry for the short notice of this but with the ever changing situation I am letting you know as soon as I had been made aware.
Mrs Williams
