On Saturday 13thJune, it is Mangotsfield festival, which is a fantastic event that the local schools and clubs take part in.
Barley Close are taking part this year and have two dance performances in the arena (shortly before 12 noon). We are also very excited to be providing the King and Queen of the festival, who will be leading the parade.
The parade leaves the green outside the lamb at 10.30am, arriving at the festival for it opening at 11.00am and it would be great if lots of Barley Close children could join in. There is no need to wear school uniform, but children could wear blue or yellow (our Barley Close colours).
We will meet on the green at 10.15am (all children must be accompanied by an adult) and walk to the festival together.
Friends of Barley Close are also having a stall throughout the day and would welcome any offers of help.
****Prospective candidates for the King and Queen have been interviewed, (from Year 5 and 6), by the Vice-Chairman of the festival and the successful children will be ‘crowned’ in a special assembly on Tuesday.*****
