Musical Enrichment Opportunities

We work closely with our local music hub and local musicians, including secondary school music teachers, to provide children with opportunities to listen to and play a variety of musical instruments. Some of these opportunities are provided by the school, others are privately paid for by parents.

As a whole school, we provide opportunities for performance throughout the year.

EYFS

Christmas Performance
(to parents and children)

End of Year 6 Summer Performance
(to parents and children)

Daily performance opportunities in continuous provision

Whole school assemblies – those who have lessons are invited to perform with their instrument

Weekly singing assemblies
(Rec join singing assemblies from Term 6)

Summer fayre singing performance – perform with local bands

“BC does Eurovision” – each class performs a song (vocally or via instrument) from a representative country, to the rest of the school, with a resulting vote

 

 

 

We also provide opportunities throughout the year for children to observe live performances, such as Samba drumming workshops, visiting Pantomime productions, and visiting local theatres.
