Term 4 Week 2 Update
Well, it was another lovely week at school again!
The sunshine has made play times and lunch times fun and it's great to have the lovely weather - long may it last!
We've had another great week of learning and we're looking forward to next weeks learning too!
In English, we worked on using 'because' as a conjunction within our sentences and then made a point of using this one in our retelling of the story of The Secret Sky Garden. The children worked hard to include noun phrases, conjunctions and neat presentation. We were so proud of them all!
In maths we continued our unit of learning linked to mass. Next week we move onto telling the time so any practice recapping the 4 main times and looking at 5 minute intervals would be hugely appreciated.
PE was spent handling a badminton racquet and a shuttle cock and working on our hand/ eye coordination with this equipment.
In Geography, we found out facts about the River Severn and also asked questions about it.
Music was fun as it links to space and we had a go at making sounds using voices.
Busy busy indeed!
We hope you all had a fabulous weekend, we popped to the park and had fun playing rounders (probably me more than the kids!).
See you all on Monday!

Ps polite reminders, all always please read 5x a week and complete TTRS when possible. As teachers, we are still not able to get into MyMaths but I believe you still can?
Term 4 week 1 update:
A brilliant start to the new term. Lovely to see some sunshine this week. The children were happy to be back with their friends and have been working hard this week. We've been focusing on handwriting and presentation so that our books represent us at our best. We've been so proud of the Lions and Tigers.
You'll get to see their books at parents evening on Tuesday 18th and Thursday 20th March.
In English we reread The Secret Sky Garden so that we can write a retelling of the story next week. We have been writing using the past tense to describe events that have already happened. We've also been including noun phrases of description like busy city, tall weeds, rusty cans.
Our maths unit was measure focusing on mass/weight. We compared items looking at balancing scales describing them as heavier or lighter. We also put different amounts of mass in order from lightest to heaviest.
In PE on Friday we played tag using scarves to simulate the tags in tag rugby. Different children got the chance to be the taggers and everyone else worked on their dodging skills. Lots of fun was had.
Next Thursday 6th March is world book day. The children are invited to dress up as a book character or in their pyjamas. Keep it simple. A football kit, a stripy top to be a burglar or a dress with a headband so they can be Matilda will be perfect.
Have a lovely weekend.
