• Airhop competition

  Miss Beak has entered our school in a competition to win a free school Airhop session- this is for years 1-6 as you must be over 5 to go to Airhop. Today, Airhop came into school and talked to the children about being safe on a trampoline and how to enter. We would like all children to have their picture taken in front of  a ’Bristolian’ landmark- the SS Great Britain, Cabot tower, Park Street, Banksy artwork, a hot air balloon- anything which represents Bristol to you. The children need to be jumping! We will then use the pictures to create a larger piece of artwork which must represent Bristol and Airhop. The entered artwork will be on Airhops facebook page- please do not send in a pictures if you are not happy for it to be used and appear on facebook. Please email the pictures to the school email address enquires@barleyclose.org.uk

• Our Christmas tree is here!

  Our Christmas tree arrived this week and I am sure you will agree it looks stunning. Year 6 enjoyed decorating the tree with all the beautiful decorations our children made at home.

  

• Singing Club to perform at Emersons Green Christmas event

  Exiting news- Singing club will be performing at the Emersons Green town council's annual event. This will take place on Saturday 5th December, outside Sainsburys from 4:30pm. Our slot will be 5:15-5:30. Why not come along and get into the Christmas spirit? 

• KS2 Girls Football

  If you are in KS2, a girl and interested in Football, you can sign up to the girls lunchtime football team. 

   

  The team train every Wednesday and during the warmer seasons they will have a number of matches organised.

   

  If you are interested, please bring along a change of clothes and togs/trainers. Meet Laura on the field at 13:00 every Wednesday (starting 9th December).

   

   

• TAG Rugby Tournament Results!

  On Friday the year 6 tag rugby team represented our school in the local tournament. They played in wind, rain and hail but their spirits were kept up, even after an injury meant we were 1 man down!

  Sadly we didn’t get through the pool stages however the team were amazing and were a credit to the school. Thank you Noah, David, Dana, Holly, Kierah, Will, Jack and Sam.

  The scores were

  Blackhorse 3-1 BC

  Marshfield 3-2 BC

  The Park 5-0 BC

  Pucklechurch 4-1 BC
