Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We had a visit from Google on the 26th September who entertained years 3 – 6 with an assembly about how to be smart and responsible in the online world. The children loved in and the Google team have been in touch with lots of praise about their visit to our school.
If the children would like to follow up on the messages learnt they can visit the website below to play games and learn more about being a Legend!

Another really useful site for parents is below, it is information on what the games, apps, platforms your children might use. It gives clear advice on the risks there might be and explains the ideas behind each site so you can stay informed and support your children to enjoy the internet and online world.

100 years of remembrance
WW1 Beacons of light
Emersons Green Town Council and the Royal British Legion are arranging an event to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.
The event will be held at Pomphrey Hill Sports ground on November 11th and starts at 6.30 pm with the lighting of a beacon. The beacon will be one of more than 1,000 around the country that will symbolise the light of hope that emerged from the darkness of war.
At 6.45 pm the names of the fallen that are on the Mangotsfield War Memorial will be read. This will be followed by the sounding of the “Last Post” and the “Reveille” will be played.
It is hoped church bells will then be rung in celebration of peace.
Lastly, and by no means least, the Bristol Military Wives choir will perform.
This is an outdoor event so attendees are advised to consider suitable clothing and footwear.
During the evening the bar at the pavilion will be open where refreshments, including soup and a roll, can be purchased.
Our annual Book Fair will be in school from Monday 8th - Thursday 11th October. We will be in the hall from 3.15 - 3.45 every day. Please come along and support us - the more books we sell the more money we will have to spend on books in school.
Thank you for your support.
Thursday 27th September 8;45-10:30 Parent coffee morning in Lemur building. cake donations welcome and all money raised will go to Macmillan cancer charity.
FOBC will also be there to start planning this school years events.
On Tuesday 9th October we will be having a Roald Dahl storyteller coming into school. He will give a performance of the BFG to years 1,2,3,4. Years 5 and 6 will hear about aspects of the famous author’s writing career in “A Taste of Dahl”. We are asking all children to bring a £1 voluntary contribution towards the cost of this and to come to school dressed in yellow that day – Roald Dahl’s favourite colour!
