  Temporary Branch Closure due to Impact Damage

   

  We are writing to advise of the temporary closure of the Soundwell Road (Kingswood) branch of Initially Yours.

   

  Yesterday afternoon, a car collided heavily with the exterior of the building and there is impact damage to a small part of the structure which is still being assessed for safety.

   

  Until the structural engineers have concluded their investigations we have been advised that the premises must be closed.

   

  We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause your parents and will stay in touch with regard to when the premises will reopen.

   

  1. there are any orders awaiting collection at the branch which customers would like to collect from either our Yate or Hambrook branches, this can be arranged. Please can customers call 0117 9577999 if they wish a transfer of their collection ready orders to be made.

• South Glos SEND Ofsted Inspection

  Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will carry out a joint inspection of your local area from 6 to 10 November 2017.

   

  This inspection will evaluate South Gloucestershire’s effectiveness in:

   

  • identifying the needs of children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities
  • meeting the needs of these children and young people so that their outcomes and chances of participating fully in society improve.

   

   

   

  The letter to parents and carers tells you about the inspection as well as a webinar that will take place at 10.00am on Friday, 3 November 2017. Parents and carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) are encouraged to take part by going to this internet link:- http://bit.ly/SouthGlosLASEND. Please can you make sure that parents and carers receive this letter by email in time to be able to take part in this webinar.

   

  Parents and carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) can also complete an online Ofsted survey by midnight on Tuesday 7 November https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SouthGlosLASENDinspectionsurvey. Young people with SEND are also encouraged to contribute their views.

• Children in Need

  School Council have worked hard to decide how our school will fund raise for Children in Need this year. On Friday 17th November they would like everyone to come to school dressed in non-uniform (spots optional) and each class will then take part in a sponsored event. They would like everyone to bring £1 to take part in these activities (50p for non-uniform, 50p for sponsored event). Details of each classes sponsored event will be put on classroom doors over the next few days. Thank you for your support.

• Harvest assembly and collection for our local Foodbank

  KS2 (Years 3-6) will lead our Harvest celebration on October 20th at 2:00 pm (for families and friends of KS2 children).

  As a school we will be collecting donations for a local foodbank. Please see below for details of items needed.

• Book Fair

  Our annual Book Fair will be in school from Monday 9th - Thursday 12th October, 3.15pm in the hall, Please come and support us. The more books we sell the more money we have to spend on books in classrooms and the library. We look forward to seeing you there.
