  • SMSC Holiday Homework Project

Mon 04 May 2015 Miss Lee

A HUGE thanks to all Barley Close pupils who took part in the Holiday homework challenge over Easter!

Our holiday homework topic theme was 'SMSC' standing for 'Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural.'

The effort and success of all the homework entries has been amazing! With nearly 60 entries being entered altogether and homework entries submitted across every single year group, our homework display is looking absolutely fantastic!

We even had to spill over to the extra surrounding wall space to display all of them!

A big thank you for all who entered, certificates and winners to be announced soon...

    Watch this space!

  • Science Leaders

Wed 08 Apr 2015 Miss Rammell

Do you have a background in Science?

    Is your passion everything Scientific?

If so, Barley Close would LOVE to hear from you! Arrange to come in and share your knowledge and understanding with the children of Barley Close. Perhaps hold a Key Stage assembly or lead a lesson in class!

We would love to have skilled Scientific experts sharing their experiences with us! Therefore if you are interested in coming into school, please contact the school directly by email or telephone and refer to me or come and see me directly (Tiger class).

I look forward to hearing from you!

    Miss Rammell

  • End of Camp for Year 4

    Fri 13 Mar 2015

Welcome back Chameleons. I am so proud of how you have behaved and taken every opportunity offered to them. Parents - you should be proud of them all.

I am sorry that access wouldn't allow photos to be uploaded but I will be uploaded them now to the Year 4 page.

I hope they all have a good nights sleep tonight!

  • Final day at camp

Fri 13 Mar 2015 Claire Perry

The weather has not been so kind to our campers this morning, with a little rain.  It has not stopped them from being outside orienteering.  Thank goodness for coats, hoods and outdoor shoes!

The children have been shipwrecked and left to choose their priority items!

The children are having lunch and plan to leave the Wye Valley around 1pm.

  • Funny for money

    Fri 13 Mar 2015
Barley Close have been getting 'funny for money' today and raising some cash for Comic Relief!
  • Morning from camp

Fri 13 Mar 2015 Claire Perry

The children all had a good start to the day after a great nights sleep.  They have stripped their beds and packed their bags ready for home!

The children have a full morning of activities to complete before we leave.  They are all eating breakfast to set them up for the day.

  • Good night from the Wye Valley

Thu 12 Mar 2015 Claire Perry

    Mrs Capel called with an update;

We played games this afternoon as a team using hoops and ropes, followed by a spaghetti challenge to make the largest structure to hold a ball!

All children ate a good dinner, then we made egg parachutes and dropped them out of windows - only one team remained in tact!

Some children have already gone to bed and the others are on their way now

  • Hungry Campers!

Thu 12 Mar 2015 Claire Perry

Lunch was a roaring success with huge amounts of food eaten, including fruit!

The children have mastered stepping stones across a toxic swamp, crossed trap doors and seen how many children they can fit on a mattress and flip it over!

The weather has stayed fine and the children have visited the tuck shop.

The children have endless amounts of energy and are having a great time.
