Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Barley Close played against Christchurch Juniors this Thursday.
Christchurch had an outstanding game and won 5-0.
Eddy had an amazing first half in goal making some awesome saves in very difficult conditions. Christchurch had a very solid defence but BC still managed to squeeze through on a number of occasions. Ali and Zak had the best of the chances but just couldn't finish, the first half ended 3-0.
The second half kicked off and BC played a much stronger half. Ali took a fantastic free kick just glancing off the post. Zak had a number of hard opportunities but he just could get the finishing touch.
For our first game and with a number of Year 4's playing we had a really good game and played very well.
We would like to thank Mr Perry for his coaching support from the sidelines and to friends and family for cheering us on.
The player of the match goes to Ellie for a awesome defensive effort. The team would like to make a special mention to Eddy, Zak and Ali for the performances.

KS2 Martial Arts Day
Friday 24th October
All of KS2 will be taking part in martial arts activities carried out by Matt Fiddes and Claire Whitehead.
The aim of the sessions is to give the children a fun introduction to martial arts. Martial arts can have benefits on many aspects of home and school life such as; building confidence, self control and respect.
All children will receive a letter at the end of their PE lesson with further information or you can call our head office on 0800 0350 415!
Please ensure that all children have their PE kits in school.
Reception and KS1 will also have a Martial Arts day on Wednesday 12th November.
Congratulations to these children for being the first children of the year to receive a Pen Licence.
Children can earn a Pen Licence by presenting their work neatly and consistently using cursive handwriting in all their books.
The builders will begin their work on the new classroom block on Monday. Below is a picture of the building plan and a letter from the company carrying out the work can be found in our 'Parents' section under 'Letters - Term 1'.
This is a very exciting time for Barley Close and the children will have front row seats of the construction and a chance to see the building grow brick by brick.
The building company are planning to supply us with some role play equipment and work with some of our children during the construction period. We will keep you up to date with the progress through the school website and Twitter!
Don't forget to come along to our Harvest Celebration on Friday 3rd October at 230pm - held in school. This will be led by KS2, with KS1 supporting the singing of the whole school songs. KS1 will lead Easter.
