Term 5 has been short but sweet!
Thursday 24th April was our woodhouse orienteering trip. This related to our learning about OS maps and we had a great day!
Tuesday 29th April we had a trip to UWE when we did a Minecraft workshop and had a campus tour.
Thursday 1st May - we had a session in the explorer dome learning all about planets!
Friday 2nd May - we had a maps workshop led by Mr Keeping. During this we looked at digimaps and OS maps in detail.
Every Tuesday morning we have had health squad in. They have been teaching us about the importance of healthy eating, sleep and reducing screen time. We have also had really fun basketball sessions with them!
This week has been super busy! We have had 2 science assemblies learning about 3D printing and engineering. A netball session, balloon volleyball, skipping, sports day, ultimate frisbee and swimming. Some of the other science activities we have done are: bird watching, creating a poster about Marie Curie and a medical workshop!
Our learning this term:
English: we have been reading the Viking Boy and written a character description and a non chron report based on this. The grammar skills we have linked are relative clauses and expanded noun phrases.
Maths: we have looked at interpreting tables, converting units of measure and decimals.
Science: this term we have learnt about Earth and Space. In this unit we have covered the planets, phases of the moon, day and night and the sun.
History: this term has been all about the Vikings. We have learnt about their homes, jobs, weapons and invasions.
PE: this term has been sports day practice and basketball with the heath squad.
Art: We have been learning about architecture and the difference between big and small house. We have drawn replicas of some amazing mansions!
