Term 4 in Elephant class has been my favourite. We have had so many amazing visits and visitors to enhance our learning and the children have worked so hard.
On the 5th March we had our amazing Techniquest trip - the children were so engaged and it was incredibly hands on. The 6th March was World book day - this involved us dressing up as our favourite book character and we also performed a poem in the whole school assembly. We chose 'The Witches' by Macbeth. It was commented on by other members how great we were!
On the 21st of March we went to the big sing event. This was so much fun and we learnt some amazing songs. We will be performing these to the rest of the school in assembly.
During this last week of term we have had an art workshop, kennex workshop and a clay workshop - all of these have been so much fun!
Some of our learning this term has included:
Maths - decimals, x and ÷ 10,100,1000 and converting units of measure.
English - we have written a Non chron report about the Amazon Rainforest using fronted adverbials and we have also written a character description using subordinate clauses.
Science - we have learnt about plants. Labelling the parts of a plant and about the two types of reproduction.
Geography - this has been a very hands on topic where we have been learning about OS maps
DT- cooking and nutrition and we made tuna pasta
Music - look at how colours can be represented by different sounds
PSHE - healthy me - learning about body image and relationships with food
PE - this term we have done Dance and also creating out own team games
I am so proud of our hard work this term and can't wait for what term 5 brings!
