Hey everyone,

This week has been fantastic!

In English we have begun our new unit on 'Persuasive letter writing.' Within this unit we are recapping how to construct an expanded noun phrase. At the beginning of the week we looked at writing a letter to Mrs Williams, trying to persuade us to have a class pet.

In Maths we have finished our unit on time, finishing with a calculation lesson yesterday where the Alligators learnt how to find fractions of amounts.

Today we finished our Art unit on 'Ancient Greek Pottery' by making our very own Greek pots with clay. We are all looking forward to decorating them and bringing them home next week.

In our Geography lessons this week we have continued to compare the City of of Bristol to Athens in Greece, with a focus on comparing physical and human geographical features. We compared closely the River Avon to the River Issisos.

Next week it is Art week, where we will be getting very creative all week.

Hey everyone,

We have had such a brilliant first week back!!

At the beginning of the week we were lucky enough to take part in some DT cooking lessons where we made 'rainbow wraps.' I think the children enjoyed eating them the most!

In our Geography lessons this week we began our new unit on 'Comparing Bristol to Athens.' Here we looked at both cities in an atlas, as well as looking at them on Google Earth.

In our English lessons this week we finished our unit by writing a 'non-chronological report' on Mount Merapi. Here the children demonstrated their understanding of non-fiction writing by using subheadings, diagrams and facts.

In maths we have been recapping 'telling the time.' This unit is always tricky, but the Alligators have really impressed us this week with their determination. We are now able to tell the time on an analogue and digital clock, as well as calculating time intervals. Well done everyone!
